TOURISM WEB SITE HITS A MILLION !

(February 3, 2003)-- The Parker Area Tourism Committee announced today that their Tourism Web Site, WWW.PARKERTOURISM.COM had reached the benchmark level of over ONE MILLION visitors in the last twelve months.

The grand total of visitors was an astounding, 1,010, 827 during the 12 month period ending January 31, 2003. In support of the accuracy of the numbers, the Committee's webmaster, River Info, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona has had their hit count numbers audited by Price -Waterhouse- Coopers, MIT and the Internet trade publication Ziff Davis.

The Tourism oriented site includes information on a wide variety of categories including directory maps, special events, places to stay, things to do and a local "Pledge Partner" business directory. In a addition the site has a local news link of area interests. The Pledge Partner program are those area business entities that have given support directly to the Tourism Committee's funding.

"This has clearly been a team effort between River Info and the Parker Area Tourism Committee", stated Don Rolapp, Tourism Director. "We have worked diligently for seven years, identifying our target markets and demographics and marketed strongly in our all our outreach efforts. There have been countless early morning and late evening conferences in planning strategies and reviewing progress."

The Web Site went on line in 1997 with a zero visitor base.
