In partnership with Mohave Community College, offers Lake Havasu City residents the opportunity to obtain a bachelor's or master's degree without leaving the area. The university program is made possible by the Statewide Partnership Plan, an agreement between NAU and community colleges throughout the state, in which the community college provides the first two years of a degree program and NAU provides the upper division courses to complete the degree. The cooperative program presents a large savings to the taxpayers of Arizona, in that the two institutions share the same facility, classroom space and resources. It also presents a savings to the students, since the tuition for MCC courses is much less than that for NAU courses, and students can live at home. If students are receiving financial aid and are enrolled in both MCC and NAU courses, their financial aid will pay for the courses at both institutions. At the present time, NAU's Lake Havasu City campus offers courses toward bachelor degrees in elementary education, liberal studies, nursing, criminal justice; and a master's degree in education and post - degree teacher certification. With input and support from the community, NAU will be able to expand its program offerings in the future. | |
