The Branch in Lake
Havasu City, Arizona, was chartered in 1976 with 23 women attending the
first meeting. In 1998-1999, our Branch had 48 members.
Monthly meetings of the general membership and of the Board of Directors
are open to all AAUW members and prospective members. General
membership meetings are usually held on Saturdays, often at the local
community college. The Board of Directors meets on Saturdays, and meetings
are announced in our monthly newsletter.
In January 1999, Lake Havasu City AAUW had its first Sister
to Sister Summit.
We celebrate Women's History Month every
March.
We raise money for the Educational
Foundation with a festive luncheon and card party in early March at
our Spring Fling.
We support the Legal Advocacy
Fund with our personal gifts or fundraising.
Special interest groups include book discussions, international relations,
bridge, and luncheons with no business agenda. New members
often inspire the start up of new groups. What's your special interest?
We believe the Lake Havasu City Branch offers something of interest to
every graduate.
